There are several oils that can be used to clean and maintain a KWA product.
The best grease for mechbox internals, like gears, is white lithium grease, commonly found at most hardware stores. Please note that opening the mechbox removes any AEG from it's manufacture warranty, if applicable.
The best all-purpose oil is 100% silicon oil. This can be found at hobby shops and some hardware stores, although care should be taken to avoid cheap variations such as "silicon spray," which is usually a blend of silicon and petroleum barbiturates. Any form of petroleum in all oils should be avoided, as these can break down rubber seals over time.
A good and popular choice for pistol slides and a few other metal-to-metal areas is graphite lubricant. This should be used sparingly, and excess should be wiped clean, as with all oils on this page.
Many customers ask if standard gun oil is acceptable, and in very cases, yes, it it. It should be used only in places where graphite lubricant should be applied, and not near any seals, valves, or buckings. Again, make sure to wipe the excess.
Under no circumstances should standard WD-40 or similar oils be used, as this will immediately void any existing manufacturer warranty. If any odor is detected from oils on a product that is submitted as an RMA, any existing warranty will be voided, with very little exception. Use of these oils will break down seals and virtually all rubber parts, so it requires a very thorough cleaning and replacement of all charging and release valves, as well as nozzle seals, main seals, buckings, nubs, and possibly even polymer parts of the item, such as cylinders and pistons. When in doubt, please contact KWA Customer Service to get information before using an oil that is in question.
